Single Facer Upgrades

CorrQuest specializes in corrugated machines and that all starts with single facers. Our upgrades include optical alignment, relocation, and controls upgrades.
Our PLC upgrades use off-the-shelf hardware that is easy to get from your local Allen-Bradley distributor.

Single Facer Control Upgrades

CorrQuest can help extend the life of a single facer by removing the obsolete and hard-to-service components and replacing with standard Allen-Bradley components. Our upgrades include a new operator interface, new PLC and in most cases new drives and motors. If you do not see your single facer listed below, we can usually provide a quote for your specific machine.

MHI 60G Paser/ Paser II

CorrQuest, having executed many 60G upgrades successfully, can take your Paser offline and deliver it one week later with a reliable, modern control system that will be easy to maintain for years. We have delivered these upgrades to our customers in some cases earlier than the promised delivery date. Here are some key features:

  • Removal of the Sumitomo glue motor and drive
  • Removal of the Siemens S5 PLC
  • Removal of the old Windows NT PC
  • Removal of all MHI proprietary printed circuit boards (PCBs)
  • Integration of the belt tracking into the touchscreen (magnets or photoeyes)

In the end you get a system that will provide long-term production with a solid electrical foundation. If you run into trouble, we provide remote cellular support to get you back up and running in minutes.

Langston 380 Fingerless

CorrQuest’s Langston single facer upgrade gives new life to aging equipment. This upgrade provides new Powerflex drives and motors for the main drive, glue roll, bridge and preconditioner. Communications and diagnostics are accomplished using Ethernet. A refreshed touchscreen eliminates the problematic Eaton IDT Panelmate membrane keyboard and CRT display. The existing PLC5 is replaced with an Allen-Bradley CompactLogix PLC. Remote Cellular support gives instant access if a problem arises.

United SF600

CorrQuest’s United single facer upgrade provides new Allen-Bradley PLC hardware and a new Operator touchscreen. We remove the DC motors and replace with AC motors using PowerFlex drives. The Ethernet backbone reduces wiring and simplifies troubleshooting. The touchscreen provides operator functions and troubleshooting assistance. Since the SF600 is solid machine (mechanically) the electrical upgrade really provides a lot of return for your investment. As always, we provide remote cellular support on our upgrades which means all downtime is minimized.

United SF600 Capstan Conversion

CorrQuest can provide a turn-key upgrade for your hydraulic capstan motor. Our conversion includes all the necessary mechanical/ electrical components so that you will no longer fuss with the original hydraulic setup. We provide the hardware and the installation and typically complete the project over a weekend. We will have a tech on site to make sure things start up smooth Monday morning.

DC to AC motor upgrades

CorrQuest can provide new motors and drives to replace existing motors. In most cases, the cost of a replacement DC motor is more that the AC motor and drive. Additionally, AC motors have an advantage over DC motors since they do not require brush maintenance.

If you are looking for a custom solution, our integration services will put together a solution for you.
